A lawman and a rancher fight a gang of horse thieves.
Jack Lanning defies his father by becoming a prizefighter. Although he is successful, Jack is exiled to Texas by his father. There he falls in love with Jenny Jenkins, a pretty girl whose widowed aunt has fallen in love with Jack. Jack helps the widow recover her ranch payroll, stolen by outlaws, and tries to find a way to marry Jenny without causing trouble with her aunt.
The story is motivated by a long-standing feud, which comes to a head when each of the warring families tries to adopt an orphan girl who is about to receive a huge inheritance.

Lovely Jessie Stevens falls in love with Jim Sullivan, much to the dismay of Red Collins (L.J. O'Connor), who wants the girl for himself. Red blackmails Jessie's father, Job, into ordering his daughter to forget all about Jim, who takes to the bottle instead.

Broncho Billy runs into trouble in a bar when he gets into a confrontation with a bully. Since the bully has a gun and Billy doesn't, he's forced to endure the bully's humiliating tactics until he manages to get away. He determines to find himself a gun, learn how to use it and then go back and find the bully for a little payback.
After Jim Blake saves Harve Tarlton's life, they become partners in a gold mining claim. After a while Harve reverts to his outlaw way of life. Everyone but Jim seems to know that Harve is bad but Jim merely thinks he needs a chance to go straight. But Jim's wife Helen has a plan to expose Harve as the outlaw he is.
